Make and Making

During church yesterday we sang “Beautiful Things” by Gungor and there is a bridge that sticks with me. “You make me new. You are making me new.” This is a gentle reminder of the completion of salvation at belief in Christ (this is where he makes us new) and the ongoing process in which we become more Christ-like (sanctification, the making us new.)

We need to preach to ourselves daily that we are new in Christ and in moments when parts of our personality reveal sin be encouraged by the fact that Christ is making us new as well.  God makes and is making, rest in that.

  1. This process is never ending – I am living proof that we never “arrive”. God is faithful to continue to work in us. Praise the Lord!
