Holiday Holiness

Spending time with family always makes me think of my lack of holiness and Christian example for them. I might talk a good game but do I play it?

Beyond our families how do we act and react during the Christmas season? We celebrate the birth of our savior but still fight for a parking spot, demand the perfect gifts to meet our selfish desires, we lack charity when it is most needed. Sadly, we look nothing like the people we are called to be making us indistinguishable from those without belief which robs God of glory and us of a witness.

Perhaps more holiness is in order; may I be able to live it… “You may talk to persons about the doctrines of the gospel, and few will listen, and still fewer understand. But your life is an argument that none can escape. There is a meaning about holiness which not even the most unlearned can help taking in. They may not understand justification, but they can understand charity,” J.C. Ryle.
